Thank you for choosing F. P. Miller Company to provide you with a quote on a purchase and rebuild of a Blanchard Rotary Surface Grinder. The work would consist of a mechanical rebuild which includes specific items as follows:
1) MACHINE DISASSEMBLY:
a) Completely disassemble machine & inspect parts and castings.
b) Clean and wire brush all parts
2) MACHINE BASE, BASE WAYS AND SADDLE:
a) Manufacture and install new hardened base ways.
b) Machine flat way surfaces on bottom of saddle.
c) Scrape & flake saddle ways.
d) Scrape and flake cup which magnetic chuck rides in
3) VERTICAL SLIDE AND COLUMN WAYS:
a) Machine vertical ways on column.
b) Machine vertical slide to accommodate new cast iron wear strips
c) Precision scrape and fit the vertical slide ways to the column ways including the gibs.
4) HEAD FEED MECHANISM:
a) Disassemble, clean, inspect and rebuild head feed (including replacing all bearings &seals).
b) Install new feed worm gear and pinion.
d) Install new elevating screw and bronze nut
5) SPINDLE UNIT (Geared head motor):
a) Disassemble the spindle unit, clean and evaluate.
b) Check spindle taper fit to chuck collar taper, and repair.
c) Replace internal oil pump with new external oil pump & related piping
d) Replace upper and lower bearings and oil seals
e) Meg main drive motor, clean & rebake.
f) Replace upper and lower bearings and oil seals.
g) Reassemble the spindle unit and test.
h) Install new motor coupling
6) SADDLE AND DRIVE MECHANISMS
a) Disassemble, clean, inspect and rebuild saddle traversing gearbox (including replacing all bearings
and seals).
b) Install new rack and pinion
c) Engineer, design & install new table rotation gearbox with 10Hp variable speed AC motor, gear reducer & associated electrical controls.
7) ELECTRICAL FEED MOTORS:
a) Install new table traversing motor & brake
b) Install new vertical slide elevating motor
c) Disassemble, clean, inspect and rebuild all other ancillary motors including replacing bearings &seals
9) OIL LUBRICATION SYSTEM (2 systems)
a) Install new programmable oil lubrication system on machine base and saddle.
b) Install new programmable oil lubrication system on vertical slide and column.
c) Clean all oil ports.
d) Clean, inspect lube blocks. Reuse if possible
e) Re-pipe with all new lines, fittings and lube blocks where necessary.
10) GREASE LUBRICATION SYSTEM (elevating screw gearbox & lower spindle bearing)
a) Install new programmable grease system
b) Clean all grease ports on vertical slide and column
c) Clean, inspect grease blocks. Reuse if possible.
d) Re-pipe with all new lines, fittings and lube blocks where necessary.
11) ELECTRICAL
a) Install all new wiring on machine
b) Clean, inspect & recondition components in panel
c) Install new limit switches and push button switches
d) Rewire electrical panel
e) Install soft start for vertical slide and table traversing
f) Engineer, design & install variable frequency drive for table rotation
f) Update schematics to reflect additions and changes
g) Provide updated manuals
12) MAGNETIC CHUCK:
a) Meg magnetic chuck
b) Install new variable magnetic chuck controls
c) Regrind magnetic chuck top and bottom
13) GUARDING AND COOLANT LINES:
a) Replace all water guards
b) Fabricate and install sliding window near operator station
d) Install new coolant lines, valves and external clean out hose
14) PAINT:
a) Sand entire machine to original machine surface.
b) Clean.
c) Prime and paint industrial enamel (machine tool grey).
15) REASSEMBLE MACHINE AND TEST:
REBUILDER GUIDELINES:
1.GENERAL:
- F. P. Miller will be responsible for furnishing all services, labor, parts and materials necessary to
rebuild the machine as described above.
2. DISASSEMBLY AND INSPECTION:
-All areas and items of rebuild will be completely dismantled to basic parts and castings.
-All parts and castings will be thoroughly inspected for defects.
3. REUTILIZATION OF PARTS:
-All parts reused will be in such condition to assure proper part function and fit. This applies to parts which are used as is, as well as those that are repaired, or replaced.
4. REPLACEMENT PARTS:
-Replacement parts will be OEM or a suitable substitute.
5. BEARINGS:
-All bearings associated with spindle, regardless of condition, will be replaced with new bearings of the same type and precision class or better.
6. SEALS AND GASKETS:
-All seals and gaskets will be replaced with new seals and gaskets of a type equal to or better than original quality.
7. FASTENING DEVICES:
-All fastening devices will be inspected and all defective devices will be replaced.
8. ACCEPTANCE TEST:
-The machine will be run off at F. P. Miller Company with testing witnessed by customer.
9. DOCUMENTATION:
-Two complete sets of machine documentation covering electrical diagrams, maintenance and operating
procedures, will be provided to customer
10. TRANSPORTATION:
-It is the customers responsibility for transportation from F. P. Miller Company.
We can assist with arrangements upon request.
-F. P. Miller will normally need one week advance notice of shipping date for adequate time to properly
prepare machine for shipment
DELIVERY:
Immediate, machine has been completed
WARRANTY:
F. P. Miller Company warrants the rebuild of this machine against defective materials and workmanship. The warranty terminates (6) months or 2000 operating hours, whichever occurs first, from delivery (some regional restrictions do apply). This applies only if the machine has been installed correctly and used in normal and proper manner under recommended operating conditions.
